Meet me

Hi my name is Ilona Szárazová,

and I'm a journalist working where social media meets real, valuable information. I'm finishing my Bachelor's in Journalism and Media Studies at Masaryk University in Brno, with exchange semesters at the University of Derby and Reichman University in Tel Aviv, and I'm based in Paphos, Cyprus.

I work in Czech, Slovak and English.

I joined Czech Television, the Czech public broadcaster, as an intern and was promoted onto the social media team, where I reported regional news daily to 40,000 to 60,000 views a piece.

During the Iran-Israel escalation I reported from Israel and appeared live on national television. I then joined the Czech Embassy in Tel Aviv, analysing the Israeli media landscape for the Ambassador.

My training is in media law, ethics and research methodology, and I've spent three years learning how stories move through platforms by publishing into them every day.

In the work environment, I lead with open-mindedness and a international perspective, which I gained from learning journalism in three countries and in two languages.
