(May 2026 - July 2026)

I came to deepen my understanding of diplomacy and learn about international relations. The escalation of the Iran-Israel conflict postponed my placement at the Czech embassy, but I stayed and reported from the ground for my newsroom in Brno, covering the situation on Instagram for a Czech audience.

After the war I began at the embassy. My work covered press relations, culture and public communication. I mapped and analysed the Israeli media landscape, advising the Ambassador on which outlets to engage and which to avoid. I drafted her remarks for the memorial ceremony, and produced the embassy's social media content, covering both its own programme and wider international occasions such as Europe Day.

I was in Israel when the conflict with Iran escalated, so my newsroom asked me to report. Over the weeks that followed I filmed and published three video reports from the ground for @udalostibrno, and spoke live on Czech Television four times, including during prime-time news.

Alongside that I posted verified updates several times a day on my own account, as young audiences seek relevant information on social media mostly.

I learned to work under real pressure, to research quickly and thoroughly, and to keep an audience informed while while maintaining impartiality in a situation I was personally living through.

Social media reporter and co-editor at Czech Television, the Czech public broadcaster, covering regional news. I sourced, filmed, wrote and published my own social media reports on @udalostibrno, consistently landing 40,000 to 60,000 views per piece against a lower account average, and contributed to 20,000 followers of audience growth.

Selected for the Bakala Foundation's Achilles Data programme, working with a team of journalism students on an investigation into the safety of travel applications. I pitched the angle, ran the research and coordinated interviews. The piece was published in Deník N and became the paper's most-read article of the week.
